The Landscape Ecology Working Party (8.01.02) is part of IUFRO Division 8 (Forest Environment) and Unit 8.01 (Forest Ecosystem Functions).
The WP was created in 1991 to bridge the gap between the theory of landscape ecology and its application into the management of forest resources.

The journal Landscape Ecology has published an editorial authored by the participants in the second webinar of the IUFRO Landscape Ecology series, titled "Building green infrastructure to enhance urban resilience to climate change and pandemics".

IUFRO LE Symposium at the IALE 2021 European Landscape Ecology Congress
The IUFRO Landscape Ecology WP is organizing a symposium on "Forest expansion, landscape dynamics and ecosystem services in Europe" in the IALE 2021 European Congress. The congress, to take place in Warsaw, was postponed to 11-15 July 2022.

IUFRO Landscape Ecology Webinar 3
The latest webinar of the IUFRO Landscape Ecology series took place on April 14, 2021, in collaboration with the IUFRO Radioactive Contamination of Forest Ecosystems WP (8.04.07) under the topic "Forests in Fukushima and Chernobyl-people, wildlife and landscape”. This co-organization happened 10 years after the Fukushima disaster.

Landscape Ecology WP meeting in Curitiba
Twenty five members of the Landscape Ecology WP met in Curitiba, Brazil, during the XXV IUFRO WORLD CONGRESS that took place from 29 September to 5 October 2019. During this business meeting the participants discussed the future of the WP, the next biannual international conference of the WP as well as elected the WP officers for the 2019-21 term. João Azevedo, Peilei Fan and Jose Alberto Gobbi will lead the WP during the coming two years. Stay tuned for more information in the near future.

IUFRO Landscape Ecology Webinar 2
How can landscape ecologists enable green infrastructure to play a more active role in avoiding and responding to pandemics and climate change? How can green infrastructure contribute to urban resilience? These are some of the issues addressed by the IUFRO Landscape Ecology Working Party in this webinar, the second of a series dealing with major current and future topics that are relevant for the landscape ecology and related communities, with the contribution of outstanding scientists with a global and integrative perspective of science and society.

Landscape and Urban Horticulture and Woody Ornamentals conferences
The IUFRO Landscape Ecology WP organizes biannual International Conferences since 1993. In addition, the WP participate actively in initiatives of other scientific organizations. The WP is proud to support the VIII International Conference on Landscape and Urban Horticulture and the IV International Symposium on Woody Ornamentals of the Temperate Zone, in Giarre (Catania, Italy) on 2-5 March 2021..
